The best place to stay in Vernon and the North Okanagan

Vernon comes alive in the winter! Know that the snow is on the ground, the ski hill is operating and the ski-doos are on the trails, Vernon is the place to be!

Of course, you can always spend a great weekend in Vernon just by heading up the mountain, but if you’re looking for a little more inspiration this January, here are some fun events to switch things up!

SKI UNDER THE STARS

A formative memory for everyone who grows up in Vernon, there’s something magical about skiing in moon and starlight. Every Friday and Saturday night until at least January 5 (check-in for future dates), this is your chance to experience the beauty of Silver Star Resort’s gorgeous downhill runs in the ghostly glow of the moon on snow! If you’ve never experienced this now is your year to try.

SLEIGH RIDE DINNER TOUR

Enjoy a little-glimpsed part of Silver Star! Go on an enchanting sleigh ride through private trails that snake through some of the most scenic parts of the resort, ending at the Wild Horseman Cabin for a BBQ buffet dinner and one of the most delicious mugs of hot cocoa you can imagine! Enjoy a steak cooked to perfection, delicious BC salmon, ribs or vegetarian pasta. A wonderful way to spend a romantic evening! Takes place January 5.

Or, if you’re looking for something a little more rugged, you can take a tour of the mountain on one of Silver Stars Snow Cats! Take a seat on this powerful machine and explore the backside of the mountain, arriving at Paradise Camp for an unparalleled view of the Monashee mountains! There, you’ll enjoy a chef-prepared meal that you won’t soon forget. Takes place January 4.

Exploring Silver Star Mountain? Save on a trip by staying at the base of the mountain at Village Green Hotel. Located twenty minutes away from the ski resort, consider us your base camp for adventure!
