Sales & Marketing Director


Job Summary:
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic sales & marketing strategies for the Village Green Hotel. The position will be responsible for evolving the strategic positioning of this independent hotel.  
This occupation helps to build the Village Green Hotel experience for our customers through a ‘customer comes first’ attitude by providing hands-on timely quality service, exceptional value, and a superior product. The Director of Sales & Marketing is accountable for managing the hotel sales, reservation, advertising and promotional and overall revenue generating efforts within the hotel throughout the following responsibilities. The position is accountable for modeling and acting in accordance with the Village Green Hotel Core Values and Code of Ethics.  

Summary of Responsibilities:  
  • An effective, strategic, member of the Leadership Team.
  • Direct all sales and marketing initiatives for the hotel.
  • Leads an engaged and success orientated sales culture within the hotel.
  • Motivates and challenges the sales/front desk team to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Key individual in identifying market trends and new opportunities and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Strong working knowledge of electronic commerce and social media channels.
  • Prepare and administer the hotel’s marketing plan and budget to achieve the revenue goals (Future goal).
  • Is a leader in revenue management to ensure that maximum revenues/yields are achieved in the development, maintenance and education of strategic rate pricing, strategic rate selling and will play a valuable role in the development of the strategic plan and the  education of all members of the team to this direction.
  • Account management responsibilities for key market segment including all major online travel agencies.
  • Ensures the integrity of key account/key prospect data base.
  • Directs the activities of outside agencies and internal staff on local and in-house advertising campaigns; supervises the production and distribution of literature and collateral.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen industry and media partnerships.
  • Prepares for, attends and follow-ups for appropriate Trade Shows in all markets.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by the General Manager / Ownership.
  • Coordinates and attend promotional functions and entertainment for clients as required, working to increase the Hotel’s profile at key industry functions.
  • Maintains open communication with General Manager.
  • Takes an active role in local, provincial and Canadian tourism partnerships.  

Summary of experience:  
  • Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma would be an asset but not essential to qualification for this position.
  • 5 years hotel Director of Sales experience.
  • Ideal candidate has a proven track record as a sales leader in a non-branded hotel and current contacts throughout all market segments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in advertising and promotional activities.
  • Computer literacy required including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point as well as the ability to understand and interpret financial data.  
  • Experience in RSI-Room Key and Genares would be an asset.  

Server/Hostess

Hours:                                         Full-Time
Reports directly to:                    Bar Manager

Summary
Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome.
 
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
  • Communicating specific customer needs to the cooks.
  • Assisting with special events as needed.
  • Able to work all shifts and holidays
  • Able to work in a high paced environment
 
Requirements:                                               
  • Back of House experience
  • Food-Safe, Serving it Right and preferably WHIMIS
  • Availability for all shifts, 7 days per week, including Holidays

  • This is a Union position that offers above average remuneration and benefits after a  qualifying period.
