Well, I’ve been asked to write a note for our website’s “Blog”. How embarrassing, I actually had to look up its’ meaning in Wikipedia.
Times really have changed haven’t they?! Or have they?……..
Back in the 80’s the Village Green Hotel was in its prime. A social meeting place, one that Vernonites were proud to patronize, and leisurely enjoy a social cocktail in one of our lounges, restaurants or bars. The 90’s brought more bands, shag carpet and balloon pants. Y2K created a whole new genre of patrons and brought about the awareness of social media and the internet. So while it is very true that things change over time and styles and trends come and go. The Village Green Hotel, its loyal employees and core values have stood the test of time and are proud to be a part of the journey to bring the Hotel back to its former glory.
I myself have had the opportunity to see many decades of change and growth throughout the Hotel through the 80’s again in the 90’s and once again most recently in 2011 to my current position as Manager of Housekeeping. Our beliefs are simple………..treat our guests and employees as we would like to be treated.
Now I get to brag, “Just a little”. My room attendants are amazing! Each one brings a special piece of the personality puzzle to our team which guests have told me makes them feel comfortable and welcomed. Honesty, integrity, team work and did I mention Honesty are core “must have” values that each and every team member possesses in order to be adopted into our work family. These values are rewarded each time we receive positive guest reviews through Comment Cards, amazing guest reviews on Tripadvisor, Expedia or Booking.com or just a warm accepting thank you from a guest who has made our Hotel their home while in Vernon. We know they will come back and we look forward to it. We are also currently working on the total dismantle and deep cleaning of each room in the Hotel in preparation for our busy season and the comfort of our guests.
Well I can’t think of much else to talk about at the moment so I leave you with this………….Laugh often, try new things and………, I almost forgot the most important thing…………STAY WITH US and take advantage of our Hospitality.
