Vernon is an exceptional place to experience the supernatural beauty of British Columbia, but there’s so much more to see in addition to the incredible scenery!  Vernon is host to a scintillating arts and culture scene.  If you’re in town for a short stay or extended period of time, check out a few of these local arts hot spots.  There is plenty more to be found here on the Tourism Vernon webpage.

Downtown Murals

Downtown Vernon
Vernon’s downtown murals are one of the largest outdoor public art displays in all of Canada.  They display the history, folklore and culture of our city, including a depiction of the legendary Ogopogo monster (the Okanagan’s version of Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster).  Interpretive tours of the murals are available, beginning at 9am and 1pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9am.  An evening tour takes place every Friday at 6pm.  To book your free mural tour email murals@downtownvernon.com or call 250-542-5851.

The Caetani Cultural Centre

3401 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon
This artist-in-residence facility was endowed to the city by the late Sveva Caetani, a Vernon resident with a deep belief in culture, knowledge and the importance of artistic endeavours.  This summer, the Centre will host a monthly concert series running from 2-4pm on the dates listed below.  Concerts will take place in the beautiful Caetani Gardens, so bring a blanket, folding chair and picnic to enjoy a great evening of live music.  Admission to the concerts is by donation.
