In late 2011 we began toying with the idea that even though our property had become rejuvenated within, it was a far cry from being refreshing from the outside. In consultation with MQN architects of Vernon, BC, the genesis of a renewed Village Green Hotel took form.
In mid-June of 2012, our contractors, Maddocks Contstruction of Armstrong, BC, broke ground with tearing down our old and worn front entrance portico; sidewalks for the length of our property sprang up; a patio for the Pub was molded from the chaos; by May of 2013 the 40 year old sign on 27 Street was replaced with a state of the art digital screen and voila, the Village Green Hotel, like the Phoenix of lore, raised its head, spread her wings, and soared from the proverbial ashes of yesterday!
In conjunction to our new image we have updated our 27 Street Grille logo, renamed our Pub, The Green, and have firmly positioned ourselves in the retail neighbourhood of North Vernon as not only the closest offsite hotel to Silverstar Mountain and Motoplex Speedway, but also as the property of choice for travelling explorers; leisure lovers; and Fido.
Having accomplished so much so quickly, though a proud achievement, we had to redouble our efforts, lest we fall into complacency. We had addressed the aesthetics, but we had to look inward and realize that with change must also come professional service as the expected complement! Our employees, having tasted the fruit of a successful yesteryear had to stretch and flex their professional hamstrings and biceps to meet the need of increased sales and demand; as a result, they too have undergone change and are well positioned to keep our phoenix aloft.
